Using AdsCove in ChatGPT

AdsCove Product & Engineering · Last reviewed August 5, 2026

Available · Web OAuth · Mobile pending

ChatGPT developer mode can connect AdsCove as a custom MCP app on the web. Choose OAuth with Dynamic Client Registration, scan the tools, and approve AdsCove in the browser — no API key or Custom GPT Action is required.

OpenAI currently limits custom MCP apps to ChatGPT on the web. ChatGPT's iOS and Android apps cannot use a custom MCP app yet; this is a ChatGPT platform limitation rather than an AdsCove setting.

Connection details

Everything the connection needs, in one place — copy any line into your client or your agent:

MCP URL: https://adscove.com/api/mcp
Authentication: OAuth 2.1 (no API key)
Client setup: Automatic (Dynamic Client Registration)
Verify tool: list_connections

Setup steps

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web and enable Developer mode in Settings (the exact section can vary by plan or workspace)
  2. Open Apps or Plugins, choose Create / +, name the app AdsCove, and paste the MCP URL below
  3. Choose OAuth and Dynamic Client Registration, then select Scan tools
  4. Sign in to AdsCove, approve access, finish creating the app, and enable AdsCove from the chat tools menu
App name: AdsCove
MCP server: https://adscove.com/api/mcp
Authentication: OAuth
Client registration: Dynamic Client Registration (DCR)

Or: hand it to your AI agent

Don't want to configure it yourself? Paste the block below into the AI agent you're using (Claude, Cursor, an MCP agent, etc.) — it contains everything needed to set up the connection.

In ChatGPT web, enable Developer mode, create a custom MCP app named AdsCove with endpoint https://adscove.com/api/mcp, choose OAuth with Dynamic Client Registration, scan tools, and complete browser authorization. Then enable AdsCove in a chat and call list_connections.

Verify

Enable AdsCove in a web chat and ask: "check my platform connection status".

ChatGPT MCP app: Meta Ads, Google Ads & troubleshooting

Can I connect Meta Ads to ChatGPT?

Yes, on ChatGPT web. Create the AdsCove custom MCP app with the steps above, then connect your Meta ad account in AdsCove → Connections with Facebook Login for Business. ChatGPT can then read campaign performance and prepare paused drafts or budget changes that wait for your approval.

Which platforms can ChatGPT reach through AdsCove?

Meta Ads, Google Ads (including Merchant Center accounts linked to Google Ads), TikTok Ads, Shopify, WooCommerce, and read-only Google Search Console — all through the one AdsCove app. Connect or disconnect accounts in AdsCove; the ChatGPT app does not need to change.

I don't see Developer mode or a Create option for apps.

Developer mode and custom MCP apps are controlled by OpenAI and can depend on your plan or workspace settings, and the menu name may be Apps or Plugins. In a business workspace, ask an admin whether custom apps are allowed.

Scan tools fails or the OAuth window does not finish.

Check the MCP server is exactly https://adscove.com/api/mcp, choose OAuth with Dynamic Client Registration (not an API key), sign in to AdsCove in the same browser, allow the pop-up, and retry Scan tools.

Can I use the AdsCove app in the ChatGPT mobile app?

Not yet. OpenAI currently limits custom MCP apps to ChatGPT on the web; the iOS and Android apps cannot use them. This is a ChatGPT platform limitation, not an AdsCove setting.

Can ChatGPT change my ads through AdsCove?

Reads run directly. Writes such as budget or status changes come back as pending actions that you approve or reject, so nothing is published silently.

What you can do once connected

Check the business report, compare platform ROAS against real Shopify orders, create paused ad drafts, and submit budget changes. Direct writes need confirmation; separately enabled guardrails can only auto-pause within your limits. Try: “Which ads lost money in the last 7 days?”
